Halloween #3 (the real deal!)
Talked about costumes in Arabic. Argued the complexities of the American court system in a great preceptor session. Hung out in the library watching The Battle of Alegiers. Chatted over lunch, took a survey to discover my parenting style for my Prejudice class...should I be worried that this is involved in the same lesson as reading Mein Kampf? Edited essays in the courtyard...it's almost winter which means it's a sunny 80 degrees EVERY DAY! Took a nap! Had a Halloween-themed dinner in the dining hall...the rare treat of turkey and deviled eggs and pumpkin risotto eyeballs, anyone? Printed our first copy of the school newspaper, The Fishbowl Tribune!!! Met with an advisor from the local newspaper The National and got psyched all over again for the future of our little journalistic endeavor. Had pizza and cupcakes while learning reading strategies and note-taking skills. Was about to finish Arabic and go to bed early when Cassie said, "So, how busy are you guys right now?" We proceeded to rap the essay we were supposed to be editing for Prejudice, complete with glow sticks and backup dancers. Our lives are awesome.
